Area Greenhand Leadership Conference

What is GHLC?

Greenhand Leadership Conferences introduce first year, first semester 8th and 9th grade students entering a high school ag credit classroom for the first time to the benefits and opportunities in agricultural education, including Supervised Agricultural Experiences and the FFA Organization. We want those students to be excited, be engaged and be prepared to begin to grow and develop as a student leader and servant in the FFA. Chapters will grow from students who come to this conference. Students who have an experience in personal growth are more ready to take on positions of influence within the chapter. Students who attend will also gain a level of confidence and competence that can positively influence peers and encourage a new level of excitement. Finally, students who understand and practice skills found in the conference are able to be contributing members of the chapter, school and community.

Location: WTAMU ~ Ag Complex ~ Canyon, Texas

Time: 9 am to 2 pm

Registration: www.judgingcard.com ~ Opens: Monday, August 24 Closes: Wednesday, August 26 ~ No exceptions.

Who should register on Judging Card: Greenhands, FFA Advisors and other chaperones that are coming, Area, District and State Officers, Leadership Ambassadors, Publicity Committee members. Names must be included for all that register and tshirt sizes must be entered for greenhands.

Cost: $30 per Greenhand ~ all attendees must apply by the deadline. This event includes leadership workshops, general sessions, lunch, social mixer, official certificate & t-shirt.

What to wear:

Greenhands: Your appropriate school dress-code
District & Area Officers: Your travel or officer teams shirts, jeans/khakis, buckle, closed-toe shoes
Leadership Ambassadors: Mrs. Weir will message you, but an ALC t-shirt is good.
Publicity Committee: Miss Watts will message you, but an ALC tshirt is good.
Advisors: School appropriate dress-code

Important to note: No cost to Advisors, workshop presenters, area officers, district officers, leadership ambassadors & publicity committee, but you must register by the deadline because lunch is provided.

Additional T-shirts: Only Greenhands are receiving a t-shirt with their registration. Additional t-shirts can be ordered through Judging Card during registration for an additional $7.
